Our goal is to drive from Canada to the tip of South America in Marlin, our little VW Golf. About two years ago we decided it was high time to shake things up and regain perspective. What do we want? Are we happy? How would we like to live? And why are we living in a place that is so dang cold?
After some discussion we decided that it might be fun to spend some time in Latin America—we both wanted to learn Spanish and Tom had always dreamed of surfing this part of the world. Somehow (neither one of us can really remember how) we decided that driving would provide a different type of adventure.
So, we saved up our pennies, packed up our apartment, stored our things and hit the road. This is our Joydrive.
