When I recently bought 2 Maté cups in Uruguay, the vendor said that the inside of the cups - made of wood - must be sealed prior to use. When I asked how to do it, the language barrier stopped any answer except that the process should take two days. If you know how to do the sealing process, please let me know so that I can begin using my nice Mate cups.
Thanks

A very good lesson in how to prepare maté! I had no idea that much ritual was involved. Mmmm...it makes me want to go heat some water for maté.
